This is my kind of place! It's cozy, the person at the door and the bartenders were friendly and welcoming, the beers were *reasonably priced*. There were a couple of street taco vendors outside, where we had some delicious tacos during the band's break (just enough room in front of the stage to dance!). I'll be back, for sure park nearby, in a well-lighted area and have someone walk you to your car when you leave. Better yet, rideshare. The area can be sketch. Just saying. Besides, the money you save on the drinks will more than pay for your Lyft or Uber.

Cool bar and music venue on Unjversity at the edge of City Heights. There’s usually a pretty good crowd here on weekends. The bar is pretty well-stocked with a variety of liquor and beer, they’ve got two pool tables, and the bands are usually pretty cool! It’s like a step above a dive bar and has some comfy U-booth seating along the eastern wall.

Best bar in San Diego I have met a lot of people and memories. I think the music spectrum can satisfy and the love from the bartenders is something to mention. Thanks for being Black Cat.

Visiting my son who lives down the street from the Black Cat. Drove by several times and he said he thought of stopping in but never had. One Saturday we decided to walk down and have a drink. Cover charge was $5. Cheap for a cover charge. Drinks were good and prices reasonable. Rey Wolf performed and did not disappoint. Small place but the atmosphere was great. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in San Diego.

Great dive bar with a cool atmosphere and decent drink prices. No food but you can bring it in. Live music sometimes
