I hired Devon johnson & gave him $10,500 deposit & a couple days later he wanted another $2,500 to pay a Mason he hired for a small wall to be built in the front of the house. He said he would not have enough money for the rest of the landscaping later, but would subtract at the end. I immediately distrusted him & refused. He went ahead with the work but the Mason quit after the wall was partially finished. He also did not want to put down fabric to prevent weeds. Said that dirt would blow over the rocks & there woul be weeds in a couple of years anyway. Now I have a huge weed problem & will have to hire a company to get rid of the weeds. His contract included many plants/trees but then wanted to charge me extra for planting them. Not being from this area, I was not aware of how important the fabric is in preventing weeds. For a professional landscaper to discourage this is plain DUMB! He also has very little hands on supervision of his crew & I had to do that myself. The landscaping cost me over $10,000 more than his contract offer. That is my experience with Devon Johnson landscaping.

Devon and his crew just finished a xeriscape job of our home, and we couldn’t be happier. Devon is really easy to work with, attentive, and quick to respond. He even met us out at the nursery on Sunday to walk us through our rock and plant selection. He was also very flexible and willing to hear our ideas. He has a good eye for detail. His crew arrived on time and worked really hard to complete my job very quickly. I left this morning with grass. I return home at five to find my yard with new plants and the rock we selected. His crew also carefully demolished a wall separating my side yard for my backyard. His bid was spot on, and his prices were very fair. I would be happy to work with Devon and his crew again..

We had a grass backyard that took a lot of work and water so we wanted something easier to maintain. We contacted Johnson Landscape and talked with the owner Devon and told him what we wanted. He gave us a time when he would come and look and give us suggestions on what he would do. He did a fantastic job and it turned out just like what we wanted. Him and his staff were very professional and the job was completely beautiful.

We bought our home in St George in March of 2017 and found Johnson Landscaping very soon after that. Devon solved a drainage issue for us while we were living out of state and took great care of our yard while we were gone and he continues to do so now that we are back home. He put in pavers for us and recommended a paver design change to us that turned out much better than our original idea. Our yard was "shade impaired" and he has planted several trees for us that are already starting to provide shade. He put in a waterfall this spring in an ugly corner of our backyard. It looks wonderful and we get daily joy from sitting out in our backyard. We used to avoid the backyard but now are delighted to spend time outside. I would highly recommend Devon. His prices are very fair and his work is great.

I had 2500 sq feet of sod laid in November. After digging out the old sod, the employees told me they needed 2-3 more truck loads of dirt to level it; I heard them tell Mr. Johnson that on the phone. They never got it, so they laid the sod anyway and my yard has low spots that get submerged in water when it rains .. it's horrible, the whole yard is like a rollercoaster. I have been contacting Mr. Johnson since December to come and look at it; he promised to fix it, but he has not been here yet.. one excuse after another: his employees quit, he had to fire his employees, it's leaf raking season, he broke his ribs.. This cost me $6000+. I do not recommend this business!
