Parking always hard but if you follow the overflow signs you will be fine! Also, disclaimer: if you like a good salad dressing, or if you like sauce on your fries you need to ask for it, they will not just include it. The servers are friendly but only if you ask them if they like their job ;). but the fish was DELICIOUS! The fish n chips and the tripple tail were big hits at our table. I would say the outdoor atmosphere is calming and a good place to chat with some live music to vibe to in the background. Portions were sizeable coconut shrimp had 6 pieces and was DELIGHTFUL. highly recommend!

My partner and I recently visited Smith House on Marco Island specifically because they advertised a dedicated vegan menu. Unfortunately, our experience was completely unacceptable and deeply concerning. ​We ordered from the vegan menu: my partner ordered the Impossible burger, and I ordered a wrap with sesame ginger dressing. When the food arrived, the burger looked suspicious. An Impossible burger has a very distinct, uniform shape, and this was clearly a standard beef patty. When we questioned the server who delivered it, they confirmed it was the Impossible burger. My partner, trying to give the benefit of the doubt, took a bite and immediately realized it was real meat, likely topped with real dairy cheese—even though we would have been charged an extra $3 for vegan cheese had it been prepared correctly. ​When our original server returned, we explained the situation. He apologized and checked with the kitchen, only to return and admit that the kitchen did not even have Impossible burgers in stock. ​The fact that the kitchen knowingly served a real meat burger to a guest who ordered a vegan meal is a severe lapse in safety. Beyond the ethical concerns for vegans, this is a massive health risk; if someone with a severe meat allergy had ordered this, the consequences could have been life-threatening. ​To make matters worse, my wrap was served missing the advertised sesame ginger dressing, but at that point, we had no appetite left to address it. While the server who took our order was professional and handled the aftermath well by removing the charge for the burger, the lack of communication and care from the kitchen is inexcusable for any establishment that claims to cater to vegan diners. ​This experience significantly impacted what was supposed to be our engagement weekend. We cannot recommend this place to anyone, especially those with dietary restriction

I visited specifically for the shrimp and grits after finding it online, and unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. The grits were extremely bland with an odd aftertaste and lacked even basic seasoning. I ended up sending the dish back, and while the server was polite, I was surprised when I was told that grits are supposed to taste that way. If you’ve had shrimp and grits elsewhere, especially in the South, this version may be disappointing. I then ordered a pancake, hash browns, and sausage instead. There was some confusion with the sausage order, and I had to remind staff after the food arrived. The gluten-free pancake was fine, but the hash browns and sausage were also very bland and forgettable. The staff was courteous, but overall the food lacked flavor and was not worth a return visit.

Smith House is a hidden gem on Marco. We're full-time residents and dine there often. The food, service and atmosphere is always incredible. One of the most consistently great go-to spots on the island for locals, and family vibe from the staff makes everyone feel at home. We recently held an event there for a retreat of breast cancer patients, and everyone was unbelievably kind and attentive. And as usual, the food and service were phenomenal.

I really enjoy visiting this restaurant; it has such a charming, cozy atmosphere that makes it a perfect spot for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, with a menu that really highlights classic, well-prepared dishes. It’s a wonderful local favorite on the island that always provides a warm and welcoming dining experience.
